What is the Chrome Extension?
The Currently Chrome extension lets you quickly capture context and create updates from any webpage. Whether you're reading documentation, reviewing a PR, or browsing resources, you can instantly add context to your projects without switching tabs.
Installing the Extension
Open Chrome Web Store
Visit the Chrome Web Store and search for "Currently" or use the direct link from your Currently dashboard
Add to Chrome
Click "Add to Chrome" and confirm the installation. The extension will be added to your browser toolbar.
Pin the Extension
Right-click the extension icon in your toolbar and select "Pin" to keep it easily accessible
Device Link Authentication
The extension uses a secure device link code to connect to your Currently account without requiring you to log in through the browser.
Generate Device Link Code
In your Currently web app, go to Settings → Chrome Extension (or Integrations). Click "Generate Device Link Code" to create a 6-digit code.
Enter Code in Extension
Open the Currently extension popup and enter the 6-digit code. The code expires after a few minutes for security.
Connection Complete
Once authenticated, the extension will remember your session. You can now create updates directly from any webpage.
Creating Updates from Webpages
The extension makes it easy to capture context from any webpage and add it to your projects.
Open the Extension
Click the Currently extension icon in your toolbar while on any webpage you want to capture context from
Select Project
Choose the project you want to add the update to from the dropdown menu
Add Your Update
Write your context update. The current page URL is automatically included as a resource link.
Post Update
Click "Post Update" to add the context to your project. The update will appear in the project timeline and be included in the AI briefing.

- •Regularly check that your device link is still active. You may need to regenerate it if you clear browser data.
Troubleshooting
Extension Not Connecting
Make sure you're using a valid device link code. Codes expire after a few minutes. Generate a new code from your web app settings.
Updates Not Appearing
Check that you've selected the correct project and organization. Refresh the project page in your web app to see new updates.
Extension Icon Missing
Right-click in your Chrome toolbar and select "Extensions". Find Currently and make sure it's enabled and pinned.
